Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ¼ cup flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 teaspoons parmesan cheese grated

Instructions

  1. In a sauce pan melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute until blended.
  3. Pour 1/4 cup of milk and whisk for about 2 minutes until flour mixture is blended.

  4. Pour remaining milk stirring constantly.

  5. Add mustard .
  6. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Add cheese and continue stirring. Cook until it thickens.

  8. Turn off heat and transfer right away in a sauce dish. It will continue to thicken as it cools.
